Do solar panels in Florida need cleaning?

Rain rinses some of it off, but not all. Spring pollen, dust, bird droppings and growth around the frame edges build up and shade the cells, and dirty panels make less power. A cleaning is worth it when you can see the film on them or your production has dropped.

How do you clean solar panels?

Gently. No pressure washer and no harsh chemicals on the glass. We use soft brushes and clean water, rinse away the loosened grime and leave the panels to dry. Check your panel and installer warranty for any cleaning instructions, and tell us if it has specific ones.

What does solar panel cleaning cost?

Solar panel cleaning is $12 per panel, $99 minimum. Members take their plan discount off: 15% on Plus and 10% on Essentials. Add it to any visit or book it on its own. See plans and prices.

Common questions

How often should solar panels be cleaned?

Many homes do it once or twice a year, often after spring pollen. If your system app shows a drop in production with no clouds to blame, dirty panels may be the reason.

Can you clean panels on a steep or two-story roof?

Usually, yes. Send us a photo by text and we will confirm before we schedule.

Do you use soap or chemicals on the panels?

We clean with soft brushes and clean water, not the soft wash solution and not a pressure washer.

Is there a minimum?

Yes: $99. A small system is priced at the $99 minimum.
